Once again it’s benevolent Momma Merkel to the rescue. Cleaning up other people’s messes. Just like when she opened Germany for the war refugees created Obama's incompetent Middle East policies. Will she be thanked? No. But a true Statesperson does what's right and moves on to do what's right while the toe twisters and ankle biters scurry along.

In 2016, German delivered goods/services to the UK in the amount of 85-billion Euro. The EU bureaucrats may not care, but the budget and finance folks of Germany already expect a 5-billion Euro shortfall this year, and they need a working UK-Germany trade situation.

I think the UK should just leave. It would likely work out best for them.

Doubt her.
But it would be nice for her to go out with a truly “statesman” like solution.

Has anyone in the EU noticed that the draconian terms imposed on countries trying to leave the EU violate the basic contract laws between individuals living in the EU?

Leave won the referendum and leave is what must happen not any pretend Brexit.

The “Irish Backstop” issue doesn’t address the flim flam shim sham in Theresa May’s Brexit plan overall.

I hear you. Bangladesh is having a problem feeding its people. If Momma Merkel cold do what’s right and invite 20 - 25 million Bangladeshis to migrate to Germany, that would help. Nobody will likely thank her, but once that good deed is done she can move on to bringing in about 8 - 10 million Nigerians. What could possibly go wrong.

- Just like when she opened Germany for the war refugees created (by) Obama’s incompetent Middle East policies.

It’s interesting to me that I have posted this viewpoint half a dozen times here but not once challenged on it.

But do continue with the quotes out of context. Since that is all people have left to argue with.

Irony, to be effective, needs to be shown.

“Oh, please” is the intellectual equivalent of a brain fart.

I quite agree.

Brain farts are not as malodorous but perhaps more pernicious.
