Elizabeth Warren took a pass on praising the non-PC Patriots
Boston Herald ^ | 2/5/19 | Joe Battenfield

The Super Bowl champion Patriots are apparently too politically combustible for Elizabeth Warren to touch.

Hours after the Pats’ 13-3 victory over the Rams on Sunday, the Bay State senator’s Twitter accounts were silent on the team’s achievement, even while other Massachusetts pols were quick to jump on the bandwagon.

It’s no coincidence that the Cambridge Democrat’s lack of love for the home team comes as she’s gearing up to officially announce her presidential campaign this weekend, when she kicks off a seven-state tour.

Of course, the Pats are universally hated outside New England, especially on the left. Warren and her handlers are all too aware of that, so she can’t even own up to being a Pats fan.

But really, has it come to this in America? A Democratic politician can’t cheer on her home team’s victory because they are viewed by liberals as Team Trump?

Maybe Warren — like many Democrats — was offended by Tom Brady’s “Reagan! Reagan!” audible call on Sunday night. The star quarterback’s apparent mention of the conservative icon has been drawing jeers from the politically correct crowd. Twitter was lit up by the Reagan mention, with liberals viewing it as more evidence of Brady’s Republican leanings.

By contrast, Warren’s Senate colleague, Ed Markey, was positively gushing over Brady and the Pats on his Twitter account, saying minutes after the game, “The GOAT, plain and simple. Cue the Duck Boats! Here’s one for the history books. Congratulations @Patriots. #GoPats #GOAT.” Markey even posed with a Tom Brady jersey before the game.

Markey is no dummy. He happens to be running for re-election in Massachusetts, where Brady is beloved.

Warren’s silence on the Pats is a stark contrast to her enthusiasm after the Red Sox won the World Series last fall.

Woo-hoo!!!!!! @RedSox,” she tweeted from her official Senate account. “What a season! We’re so proud of you #DoDamage.”

The big difference is the Red Sox aren’t owned by Trump supporter Robert Kraft. So Warren had no worries about offending liberal-leaning America. She even won a World Series bet against California Sen. Kamala Harris, who was backing the Los Angeles Dodgers.

But after the Patriots beat the Rams, Warren was obviously too busy quaffing Michelob Ultras, or trolling former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, to pay attention to football.

“Middle class families are sick of stagnant wages & exploding costs,” Warren tweeted Monday under her campaign handle, @ewarren. “They’re sick of a Washington that works only for the wealthy and well-connected. They don’t want to replace a self-absorbed billionaire President with another one.”

Or here’s another one from Monday: “Dear Howard Schultz: if you’re looking for bold ideas with broad bipartisan appeal for your ‘centrist’ presidential campaign, may I suggest my #UltraMillionaireTax?”

Good one, Senator Warren! Now if you could only get just as pumped about the Pats. Don’t forget, New Hampshire is Patriots country, too

Was she upset that they beat the Chiefs?

I'd say she's a petty person, but she probably has no idea who this guy is either:

>>The big difference is the Red Sox aren’t owned by Trump supporter Robert Kraft

The Red Sox are owned by John Henry who also owns the Boston Globe, or Fenway Gazette as I like to call it.

It has to do with Trump. I don’t think she’s anti-Semitic
(Kraft and Julian Edelman are Jews) or anything.

Could you imagine this...a Pennsylvania Senator being silent after the Steelers or Eagles win a Super Bowl.
(Of course I think Rooney’s an Obama man...) If, say, Bob Casey, a Dem were running for Pres. and Rooney were a Trump supporter, then maybe but...

Warren has Ted Kennedy’s former Senate seat, which briefly was held by RINO Scott Brown. Markey has the former Kerry seat. He won a special election in 2013 to
succeed John F’n Kerry

Somewhere in her past years as a Massachusetts pander bear there must be a photo of her with a Pats hat. Maybe she's even pretending to drink a beer!

Just another in an endless list of examples of liberals being incredibly petty and infantile. They just can’t have fun, they have their anuses all puckered up over every little thing in life

Remember Patsy Schroeder? Senator from Colorado Hazard recall . I swear I never saw that woman that she didn’t have her face puckered up like somebody had stuck a lemon in her butt.

Apparently Americans weren’t upset with low wages and high unemployment while Barack was President.

It’s unlikely that Little White Dove Warren would congratulate the red skins either.

Maybe she should run for Follower of the Free World or something.

I think some sports announcers are referring to the Redskins as simply “Washington”.

Blue Jays radio announcer Jerry Howarth has not referred to the Cleveland Indians by their nickname for over 25 years.
Just calls them Cleveland on air. Doesn’t say Braves either.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-broadcaster-jerry-howarth-wont-say-indians-alcs/

>>He said ‘Jerry, I appreciate your work but in the World Series, it was so offensive to have the tomahawk chop and to have people talk about the powwows on the mound and then the Cleveland Indians logo and the Washington Redskins.’ He just wrote it in such a loving, kind way. He said ‘I would really appreciate it if you would think about what you say with those teams.”’
Howarth wrote the man back, promising he would stop using Indians, Braves and other offensive words.

I'm not surprised by Warren's behavior in this regard. She is a small minded, petty, morally bankrupt sleaze ball who does as Clinton used to do...sticks a wet finger to the wind before commenting on anything. I can't wait to see he go down in flames.

Oh...and she's a multi-millionaire so she needs to STFU before presuming to speak for average Americans.

The silver lining to that is that if the ‘pubs run a decent candidate against there, it will be a campaign issue.

Some people like Lie-a-watha are just pissed off at the world. I couldn't care less when an angry and bitter person like that doesn't like me.

I really don't follow the NFL much but have become a bandwagon Chiefs fan because they are local and doing well. Given the dislike of the PC crowd for the Patriots, I might reconsider my dislike of them. I never want to be on the same bandwagon as the PC crowd, even if it is accidental.
