The main point with the Harriet Miers firestorm (which you brought up, not me) is that it was an enormous betrayal by Dubya of everything we'd done to twice elect him, and if any incident in his 8 years justified Coulter or the other well-known conservatives or little guys like me in "screaming"*** at Dubya as you put it, that was the one time above all others that it was justified. It was a life or death moment, where he was about to trash the best opportunity he had to make his entire tenure an overall success, namely with a great, rather than atrocious, lifetime appointment to the USSC. Because of Coulter and others' anguished cries, we got Alito instead of Miers. And we owe Coulter and others a debt of gratitude for an intense turning up of the heat that pushed Judiciary Chair Arlen Sphincter and other GOP Senators to tell Dubya that this fat lady ain't singin'.
***Coulter "screaming" is according to YOU, anyway. Also according to you in describing her interview with Hannity: "complete nervous breakdown" & "mental patient" & "hysteric" & "meltdown" & "mentally ill" & "raved" & "emotional nutcase". But you have provided nothing to support those descriptions other than your 14-year-old memory. No recordings, no transcripts, not even a single word from her mouth quoted by you. OTOH, I provided a link to a column she wrote at that same time about that same issue.
Perhaps a vague 14-year-old memory, combined with Coulter Derangement Syndrome, is coloring your memory of her behavior? Give credit where it's due, and debit where it's due. Anything else smacks of obsession, even derangement.
And for the record, I strongly disliked her words in this post of hers yesterday, and *detested* her timing, right after PDJT's masterful velvet nuking of the Dems. (A "kinder, gentler nuking"?) So no, I don't always defend her. But in no way have I ever come close to Throwing Her Under The Bus, as too many Freepers do to her and to too many other conservatives. (Remember "Gramnesty"? Where is he today in the nation of Freepdom? Under the bus again? On the golden pedestal again? Or do we need to poll members to make a determination?)
