That re-election map of all those states! Talk about the good old days.
May we live up to the standard he set and work hard so that the light of American freedom will not be extinguished during this generation.
Never give up.
A great man. A great President.
A tidbit. It was an honor to have met him at the WH. In fact, I still have a jar of Jelly Beans given to me by RR, and it’s never been opened. I have it sitting it on a shelf in my living room.
Happy Birthday President Reagan! Today is also my mom’s birthday. A lifelong Republican, she turned 89 today!!
So very proud to call him my fraternity brother!
Happy birthday Frater Reagan! Yours in the bond!!
I am obviously in the minority. I do not laud him as a great conservative. He did some good things, which were undone by his chosen UniParty veep and those that followed.
Are conservatives ever going to acknowledge the devastating damage he did to the nation with Amnesty?
I am a native Californian. With dismay I watched him make the deal with the devil in 1986. I knew what would come of it.
I was right: California, his adopted state, over which he presided for two terms, is lost to us because he was so foolish as to trust Democrats - and he, a former Democrat, had no excuse.
Those here who despise Ann Coulter should recall what that vaunted conservative icon did to us and the country.
Those here who love to hate California as a leftist hellhole should acknowledge that Ronald Reagan made it happen.
As California goes, so goes the nation.
Tip of the hat to the Gipper.
Many good thoughts here from your presidency President Reagan.
Rest in peace...
Ronald Reagan was the first president I was old enough to vote for, a true great American president. I wish I could find the first commercial I ever saw during his 1980 campaign. I have searched but cant find it on the web. At its closing, Reagan was speaking, saying in summary that the rest of the world may not like us, but they were damn well going to respect us. Got my vote then and there. And I was so happy that the Carter presidential disaster would be over soon.
