I'd have to see the request, but MY eyes sometimes see the wrong number (3 and 8, f'rinstance) and if THAT'S the situation, this is blown all out of proportion.
But if it's 1 and 8, we have a problem, Houston.

Agreed, early on it just didn't smell right.
Its is job that has to get done. And done by tough, aggressive cops. But they HAVE to be 100% right. I think in some cases the love of adrenaline and power trumps common sense.
As mentioned on other threads. Why couldn't the culprits been taken down outside the house, at another venue? No knock raids are inherently dangerous for ALL involved. That should be last resort IMO...
