Background Checks Bill Would Turn Many Well-intentioned Americans Into Criminals

Let’s say a stalker threatens a female friend of yours. She asks you if she can borrow your handgun. She is trained and has no criminal record. Should you loan her your gun?

Under a bill being heard today before the House Judiciary Committee, loaning her your gun soon could land you in prison. An exception is made only for cases of “imminent” danger — where her stalker is right in front of her at that very moment. Even those annual Boy Scout shooting trips will face legal dangers. Adults who lend troops their guns for a day might soon find themselves in prison.

Or if your SO is not home and they own a gun could you use it to defend yourself in a home invasion?

The real problem here is that it’s unenforceable without national gun registration - and that’s what they’re going for

They are trying to say it is criminal for the government to not know what you are doing with your gun at any time. They are using the excuse that the government has no knowledge whether or not your friend has a gun license and therefor whether or not your friend can legally “have” a gun, in their view.

This bill would be the first step, with its logic naturally morphing into bills requiring “registration” of each and all of YOUR gun activities.

Those kind of laws are #NotMyLaws.

Just as the Resistance says "#NotMyPresident", if they pass these, they are not laws that I have to abide by.

And attempts by an illegitimate CONgress to enforce the #FakeLaws will be met with self-defence measures.

If it's OK for the Left's pet illegal invaders to ignore laws, then it's OK for legitimate citizens to ignore "laws".

Oft quoted martial arts quote...

“Weapons should felt and not seen”

And the also relates to blabbing about your arsenal.

Any one of my friends could borrow from a large selection of handguns - all purchased legally in private transactions. No paper trail exists, and no records were required to be kept.

Anyone asking to borrow a handgun from me will be disappointed.

Funny how I might have a different response to loaning a deer rifle or shotgun.

That law already exists in my State and I am forbidden to “transfer” a firearm for just about any reason, except as an irrevocable and permanent gift to a defined “family member” without doing a federal background check and filling out state and federal paperwork.

It was passed by initiative. I have told friends who voted for it that if there are ever riots or looters after a natural disaster to remember what they voted for and go to a gun store for a firearm, as I will not loose my 2nd amendment rights.

Everyone should inventory their guns to find which ones have a paper trail.

“Shall not be infringed”

But yet it is with impunity...CA, NY, NJ, CT, IL...etc, The question is if or when we invoke the 2nd amendment? How far can we be pushed?

States passing laws is one thing, but legislation on a national level is a whole different animal.

Who knows what idiotic details they’re folding into this proposed plan but you know (or should know) that in Washington state immediate family is exempt. So you’re safe (for now) to hand a firearm over to your husband. Beyond that it gets (deliberately) murky.

Damned dhimmicrats!
