> EPA enforcement drops sharply in Trumps 2nd year in office <
Sweet!
Perhaps some reasons that the EPA enforcement is dropping in number of cases is that environmental polluters have gotten the message to clean up their acts; state EPA equivalent agencies have stepped up to take some of the caseload off of the EPA while enforcing similar state codes; and new technology has decreased previous environmental violations.
By the way, some DOJ environmental court cases went on despite the partial but inconvenient government shutdown (thanks to the Dems) and trial prep for one major case was done by a skeleton crew working their asses off to prepare for when the govt opened.
A lot of us who work in this area would have worked without pay (delayed, or in my case as a contractor, using up Paid Time Off or just not getting paid until later). The Dems wouldn’t let this happen.
The insanity of the EPA under both Clinton and Obama has yet to totally see the “light of day”, but good EPA and DOJ workers continue to do their jobs professionally and competently. I should know, I’ve worked with them for over 2 decades and they are great people (even if I privately disagreed with some of the laws/regulations that the EPA promulgated under Clinton and esp. Obama).
The environment is a lot cleaner for their efforts.
