Um, maybe he could TIGHTEN UP THE BORDER? IIRC, a massive Fentanyl shipment was discovered in a truck driven by a ‘trusted driver’. The shipment had the potential to kill 56 million people.
I thought the Chinese had done something to make fentanyl illegal, or shipping it illegal, or something.

Well, considering that a lot of pharmaceuticals are manufactured in China these days, that could certainly roil negotiations over drug prices (to the benefit of big pharma). Also, Fentanyl has legitimate uses. How are the Chinese supposed to be able to determine who is legitimately requesting this drug and who is not?
Might be better to gain their cooperation and set up some sort of registry of shipments coming in. That way we’d know who is getting what.
If Chinese companies refuse to cooperate with our efforts to deal with this situation, if they are non-compliant to reasonable requests, then by all means, sanction the heck out of them.
