I hope you are not saying it makes sense to send troops into Venezuela. It doesn’t. As obnoxious as this Maduro muppet is, he is no threat to the US. AND he is the result of socialism that the voters of the country voted for themselves. The US does not owe them one drop of American blood to bail them out.
He should be left alone to continue to destroy Venezuela and kill its people. He’s a brilliant example to the voters of this country and the rest of the world. He does the US more good exactly where he is, compared to any conceivable benefit of intervention.
Oh, he’s killing his people and committing crimes against humanity? That’s what the Great and Wonderful Oz, oops, excuse me, UN is for.
UN could not defeat a cub scout troop.
And they would find a reason to rape a lot of Venezuelans.
No, I don’t want us to invade.
We have people who specialize in helping. Not our military.
But. There are times when military intervention is justifiable on a humanitarian level. Will not say more than that.
Elections have consequences. The Venezuelans voted for their beloved savior Hugo Chavez and his benevolent socialism. The evil yanquis U.S. didn't know what it was missing. Every failed program, every economic setback was the fault of evil corporations like McDonald's etc.
Only a fool thought there would be free elections after voting in socialism.
If they want an American army to invade.....it should be an army of NYT, CNN, WaPo, ABC, MSNBC reporters, Sean Penn, AOC, etc etc and all their ilk who invade Venezuela and show them how to do socialism the "right" way.
If you want to throw off the the yolk of socialism - expend your own blood and treasures amigo.
Maybe this is a job for the Puerto Rico National Guard?Assuming there is such a thing. At least theyd know the lingo . . .
The downside being, of course, that they might be Maduro sympathizers.
