A federal judge ruled on Friday the US government can include citizenship question on the US Census. It makes complete sense so Democrats are against it.
It also affects how much federal funding the sanctuary communities will receive from American taxpayers. So, of course, Democrats are against this.

A federal judge ruled late Friday she is unconvinced of an immediate need to block a citizenship question from the 2020 census over privacy concerns.
US District Judge Dabney Friedrich declined to issue a preliminary injunction requested by a privacy and civil liberties nonprofit group, the Electronic Privacy Information Center.
The group argued that the US Census Bureau was required to complete a privacy impact assessment before Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross announced the addition of the question.
In response, the government acknowledged it is required to update its privacy impact assessments, but must do so before collecting census responses, rather than before deciding what questions would appear.

Maybe where they suspect perjury on the form they will send ICE to verify and arrest them on the spot if they can’t prove they are citizens. If not, this is just a colossal waste of time.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center is a Leftist/possibly some Libertarian group. They claim to be protecting privacy rights but some of their arguments favor drug dealers, terrorism supporters and criminals.
This is a good decision.

I think its a crime to lie on a federal form. Not sure it applies here but hope so. The census should really only contain a single question - how many “citizens” live at this address?
Something like that. 1 per 725,000 people counted. I think they have anywhere from 3 to 6 million illegals in California. That’s 4 to 8 congress seats.
The words of this judge’s own ruling mention a “permanent injunction”...which means that another court has already ruled, and that he has no power to vacate that permanent injunction. This case dealt ONLY with one particular plaintiff and his/her case, and the judge was basically ruling this way on procedural grounds (i.e. you can’t demonstrate any harm BECAUSE of the permanent injunction in effect already). I don’t remember if the permanent injunction was placed by another District Court, or by a Circuit, but this is assuredly headed to the Supremes.
I would LOVE to see the other side appeal a Circuit decision in our favor, and have the Supremes decide not to take that case; alternatively, the Supremes can rule that by definition you cannot have harm by counting citizens, as that is one of the purposes of the census, with another being to aid in the determination of whether there is vote fraud by non-citizens if (for example) 1,000,000 votes are cast in a state which showed 800,000 citizens only 2 years earlier. Further, this question was asked in MANY prior censuses (censii?), I have seen it with my own eyes while researching my family tree.
We don’t know if or when the USSC will take a peak at this.

One of the reasons the left is furious over Clinton losing and the DNC push for illegals now is because they know it is the ticket to crushing America which is more specifically crushing Conservatives/Constitutionalists.
What is really discouraging is that so many voters who are not really hardcore leftists do not seem to understand that by voting for Democrat candidates they are voting AGAINST the welfare of their own children and grandchildren. Every region with a collective of illegal, foreign invaders being counted will be assigned more House of Reps.
Apportionment is based on the headcount, not if those counted are citizens, permanent residents, or illegals. The left fears the citizenship question because they believe illegals will choose not to be counted rather than answering truthfully.
This would also mean that Presidential Electors will increase in those areas as well. We all know how that will work out.
