Klobuchar announced her candidacy on Sunday in Minneapolis, where scores of supporters stood out in steady snowfall and frigid temperatures.

President Trump on Sunday mocked Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) for launching her presidential campaign in wintry conditions in Minnesota, tweeting that she "looked like a Snowman."

THIS COUNTRY IS FINISHED.

Yes it is, and please don't let the pollyannas convince you otherwise. They have been delivering a political Novocaine to those of us who are 'woke' for decades and until they wake up and join the DISGUSTED we will continue to circle the bowl.

All you people are in denial! Denialism is what you got. I think the aspiring candidate is trying to say that if you don't elect me, your existence will be threated by fundamentalist who don't obey the scientific consensus.

They stood out there in the the snow and freezing wind, but their hearts were warmed by the hypnotic global warming chant.

Thank you I appreciate that.
I live in a beautiful state that is being ruined by the left, the Somalians, the gangs, the Hmong, the taxes, and our elected politicians. Just know that the Congressional Switchboard number (202-224-3121) is on my phone and I can leave messages for all three boobs representing me in the 13 minutes it takes me to get to work.
Klobuchar is in my opinion the most dangerous of all that I can remember. She made a campaign stop back in 2007 at our office in Granite Falls. This arrogant idiot walks in my office and points at the drawings on my desk and bellows out “CAD!” Wow what a genius. I know she read the disdain on my face and she left just as quick. Beware of anyone who is a know-it-all! Now 12 years later here she is running for president standing on a stage freezing her ass off in front of a bunch sheep shouting global warming! The people of this state just won’t wake up and I don’t get it.

“Most of the young people (under 30) are ignorant and emotionally weak.”

If ignorance and weakness were our only problems, we’d have better prospects than we do. The weak and the ignorant are easily defeated - in fact, they wind up destroying themselves.

A bigger concern to me is is the fact that so many millions of the left-leaning urban and suburban middle class are intelligent, articulate, educated and involved.

They still manage to get everything wrong somehow, so I am by no means holding them up as wise or prescient, but to underestimate them as ignorant or weak, would be foolish. They are informed just enough to be armed with the most effective anecdotal “evidence” and they are quick witted enough to be ready with the most razor sharp sarcastic memes.

They are quite formidable in a “debate” as long as the format favors them (which it usually does), and they can herd together and outnumber their opponent (which they do), or stay safely within their echo chamber (which they also do).

As an example of this crosssection, I offer my musician friends and acquaintances. I play keyboards in a classic rock cover band in the Philadelphia area. This includes my band mates, their spouses, all the scores of people who bother to find out where we are playing and come out rain or shine to hear us. Add to that the equivalent from competing acts in the area - we all support each other because it’s so much more fun when a lot of people show up. They are all such wonderful, friendly, easygoing, fun people - until you get them on Facebook.

On Facebook, most of them - at least the outspoken ones - are suddenly mean, Trump-hating, Republican-hating leftists. Their jokes and memes are funny (sometimes), but they also delve into these serious discussions and can get quite offensive. I never get involved, so they don’t even know they are offending me. I mostly visit Facebook to keep track of what’s going on in the local music scene and to keep track of my adult kids and grandkids - I’m 66.

Anyway, the other day, one of my band mates, who pulls down a decent middle management salary in his day job, says on FB: “Last year I got a refund, this year I owe $1300 on the same exact salary. Thanks a lot Republicans.” This leads to a flood of responses of people also claiming to be middle class earners paying more taxes after Trump’s tax cut. Then came the “tax experts” explaining how the loss of various deductions made Trump’s tax reform a tax cut only for the very wealthy, at the expense of the middle class. Then there were comments about what a shame it was that Republicans were too ignorant and uneducated to see through what Trump was doing to us.

Every once and a while a brave Republican would try to cut through the anecdotal “evidence”, or point out a logical fallacy, or warn against making generalizations, or delve into the nuances of economic incentives, statistical analysis, individual liberty, fake news, or whatever. These Republicans were easily dispatched and made fools of by the articulate left - partly because they were so far outnumbered, but also because of the 2nd law of thermodynamics: the fact that the truth is often more complicated than a lie, more difficult to explain or defend than a lie, because a lie can be as simple and elegant and clever as you want it to be.

Anyway, I wish Leftists were all ignorant and weak, but unfortunately, that’s not the case.

“existential”

That’s Democrat for “bigly”. Disregard the dictionary definition.

The Washington Post (Feb 11, 2019, p.A1) characterized Klobochar as a “pragmatic Midwesterner”.

I’m not crazy.

My theory is still Clinton vs Mooshelle at the end.

The other Demoncrats are running for president paid by Soros to take up space and kill the clock for Mooshelle to ride in on the White Horse (or black horse) and save the day...all part of the plan.

It will be Hitlery vs Mooshelle.

Great post. A lot of liberals are very smart and quick-witted, and totally unaware that many of their beliefs make no sense in the real world and are actually based on an overwhelming desire to simply disagree with conservatives about everything. There’s a lot of BS posted out on FB and other places about the tax reform law. I took a good long look at it, and about the only way anyone could end up paying more taxes under the new law is if they owned a valuable home and their property taxes are a very high percentage of their income. In that unusual case, the lost deduction for property taxes could increase taxes by more than the decrease in taxes from lower federal tax rates. But that should only be true for a slight percentage of the population, and most of the people claiming to pay higher taxes are just talking BS.

At least with the tax law, everyone knows what the true impact is on their tax payments, so there’s no way that the false statements on the internet will change many opinions on this subject. Everyone knows how it actually affected them and the voters only care about the true impact on them and maybe some of their friends and neighbors.
