Existential is one of those words better read than said out loud in general conversation. Using that adjective usually sounds rather contrived and pretentious.
Even the German term of Zeitgeist would work better.
Or just say, ‘everpresent, unending or always there’.

She may regret that Snow Speech.
We had one American President who gave his Inaugural Speech in the pouring rain, without hat or coat. He caught pneumonia and was dead within months.

Dennis Prager made an interesting observation I heard this morning on a rebroadcast of his program (from last week).

(paraphrased/misremembered):

The state of the world has always been man trying to survive the hazards from nature.

Medicine is based on trying to kill bacteria and viruses before they kill us.

Overcoming extreme cold and heat, winds and floods. Droughts and invasive species (insects, plants, animals).
