I know of a 7 year old girl whose parents are involved in an ugly divorce. The girl lives with her mom most of the time yet she observed "It isn't fair that dad has to pay for the house but he doesn't live in it".

It takes a lot of effort for the public school system to take common sense out of these poor kids.
