Different states could have been different. I was in California and we got both off.
Two days off, real close. It was great.
That’s why they made Presidents’ Day. There were two holidays. They took on and made MLK day and merged the two birthdays in to President’s Day.
The presidents are Lincoln and Washington.

Unfortunately people seem to be forgetting this, the general public seems to think it is a day for celebrating all presidents.
I wrote this post in 2019 about the cultural loss of honoring Washington and Lincoln. A mere three years later the covert war on our country has become overt. Out statues have been toppled, our traditions perverted, our children co-opted, our institutions overtaken.
