Mitch McConnell is going to force the Senate to vote on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday that the Senate would vote on the "Green New Deal" introduced by Sen. Edward Markey, D-Mass., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez last week.

"I've noted with great interest the Green New Deal, and we're going to be voting on that in the Senate to give everybody an opportunity to go on record," McConnell told reporters.

The bill, which is not expected to pass the GOP-dominated upper chamber, could force some Democrats to make a politically awkward calculation.

“Only the truly stupid would vote for it.”

I would expect 285 Dem votes. Some of them are double-stupid.

Some Reps may not want to vote on it either.

Great strategy. The rats will mostly vote no, and Tom Steyer and other nutcake big donors will punish them by “primarying” them.

Operation Chaos 2020 and beyond!

Trust me, there are folks on K Street who will be for it.

It all depends how much money they are ready to pass out.

Who is that guy that owns all the railroads?

He means well but it is all Kabuki Theater.
This ploy will no longer work as the Radicals now control the power and lying is part of that control.

measure passes on first ballot. The US plunges into chaos

Could be what it takes.

Make Americans face the cost of environmental virtue signaling at the pumps, on their utility bills, and at the grocery store for a couple of months and the crap would never again see the light of day.

"$8.49/gallon gas?!?!?! F**K THE CLIMATE!!!"

Thanks. I can’t imagine someone not realizing this would be a shot in the arm for AOC’s supporters. “Oh look, she’s only been on the job for a month and is already getting great legislation on the docket for review.”

Mitch, you ignorant slut...

What if it passed?
It’s a non binding resolution . . . all show.

A Five Year Plan, stretched out to ten years - one which asserts to everyone who works in the automobile industry, the airline industry, and the oil/gas/coal industries that their work is worse than useless.

Anyone voting for this pie-in-the-sky proposal is begging to have Trump loudly pointing that out to his constituents in their next reelection campaign. How many unions do you suppose will be on board for that?

It’s a resolution. A silly resolution.

It doesn’t do anything, other than to say, “This is what we want the stupid voters to think we think.”

No wins or losses here at all.

I believe “the truly stupid” takes in a lot of territory among politicians...of both stripes.

I agree. I’d suspect a lot of Dems will vote for it and this will give it more legitimacy. Bad idea.

If it passes due to some unforeseen circumstance, Trump can veto it. Fun fun fun since Daddy took the T-bird away.

Think for a minute about your question. If you still need help, I suggest searching YouTube for "Schoolhouse Rock: America - I'm Just a Bill." That will help answer your question.
