President Donald Trump is likely to ban Chinese telecom equipment from US wireless networks by signing an executive order as soon as next week, according to Politico.
The administration wants to issue the order before Mobile World Congress, Politico reported Thursday, citing three anonymous sources. MWC 2019, the world's largest mobile industry show, runs from Feb. 25 to 28 in Barcelona.

I do a lot of tech surveys for extra money and amazon, google, IBM, cisco, msft and oracle are always on the list of top cloud folks.
VmWare, Alibaba, Citrix and some other thrown in too.

Moving into Cloud and software in a big way. My wife came into Cisco as part of that move so she’s relatively safe from the reorgs/layoffs affecting the network biz. So far she is loving the company, but she does have to work long hours... just an aspect of being in the high growth part of the business. Some big new leadership changes in the way of Amy Chang.
This will involve that recent extradition of the Huawei executive from Canada to the US, and turn what is already quite a political crisis in Canada into more of a US-China political showdown.

Eventually if China gets pi$$ed enough they will push the auto destruct button that they engineered to kill all our devices. So be it.
I’ve always been old-school, and would like to see cell phones, smart TVs, internet and whatever else has caused people to go around with delusions of grandeur to go bye-bye. Every electronic device has been compromised by the Chinese and it’s definite not a question of if but when.
I’ve been ready to go back to being old-school for a while now. The younger world will go nuts for a while but we of the Old Tribe will be a-OK.
Way to go, we are the same. We can go unplugged at the drop of a hat just fine also. I was thinking about that this morning, we lived in a plugged in society. We have all but lost unplugged arts and culture. No one can live through “camping” anymore.
I would rather it be done now than occur in the middle of a conflict.

Yup - he has to do this. Chinese are spying on us everywhere, and this will prevent their complete takeover.....at least for a while.....
There’s a shop I frequent that has told me that clients almost to a man believe the ChiComs are coming. When is the question. I suppose when there’ nothing left to steal.
