HIS GIRLFRIEND SAID SHE HEARD DISTINCTLY THAT THEY SAID THEY WERE COPS.

THE GUY was wanted on narcotics and weapons trafficking.

Never heard here before that because a crime wasn’t that big or because it was legal SOMEWHERE ELSE to do, that it’s no biggie.

Some schmo here the other day said someone deserved a police beat down because he didn’t use his blinker.

If this was a black perp from NYC most here would be saying screw him, he had it coming :)

Just sayin..

HIS GIRLFRIEND SAID SHE HEARD DISTINCTLY THAT THEY SAID THEY WERE COPS.

So? Doesn't mean he did.

THE GUY was wanted on narcotics and weapons trafficking.

Marijuana is not a narcotic. Article also goes on to say he was selling firearms at gunshows.
The police could have picked him up multiple times without having to break in his front door.

“HIS GIRLFRIEND SAID SHE HEARD DISTINCTLY THAT THEY SAID THEY WERE COPS.”

If that were the actual case, then the girl friend never should have fired at the door killing the cop. She should definitely be tried, convicted and jailed for life!

Oh wait a minute, she wasn’t the armed one, nor did she do any of the shooting.

It is possible in a stressful panicky moment for two people to hear totally different things. It is also possible after the fact for someone to be told what was said and then later believe that’s what they heard.

What the girl friend heard has no bearing. None, zero. The distance the bedroom was from the door, the loudness of the battering ram, the loudness of the cop yelling “police!” and the heat of the moment all factor in.

The man did not have a history of being a violent criminal and thus had no reasonable expectation for his door to be kicked in. He was exercising his right to defend his home.

Selling dope is a crime, but the type and quantity did not classify him as a major Colombian drug smuggler. He could have been arrested without violence any time he left his home, at which point a search warrant could have been peacefully executed.

Excessive force get’s people killed. Think Waco and Ruby Ridge. This one’s on the cops. I hope the guy beats the murder wrap and is appropriately punished for the dope wrap.
