No knock warrants are a double edged sword in cause and effect. The concept is to make a safer entry for the officers by using the element of surprise. This element of surprise is not always a good thing and can backfire killing people instead. The concept is irrational.
I don’t think a battering ram constitues ‘using the element of surprise.’
