"The truth of the matter is weapons like the AR-15 have an effective range of over 1,500 meters," Hogg said. "If you're using a weapon with an effective range of over 1,500 meters, you are not defending yourself. You are hunting a human being."

I don’t know of any ballistics tables that cover 5.56mm shooting 1000 meters, much less 1500.
That distance(1000 meters) or 1000 yards requires real skill with your rifle.
Most shooters struggle to get on the paper at 1000 yards.
You have such a narrow, small minded view of still alive!
What kind of life can he have when he lives in constant fear of learning what happens to no-longer useful idiots?
Those statements are just showing their true intentions. It is not about guns. It is about totalitarian control by the state. We do not comply with their worldview therefore they want us dead.
Its not if, its when.
Guess what, Democrats. A Democrat said the same thing about the Second Amendment. Hubert Humphrey.
That little boy has a lot of “mental issues”. I guess he hasn’t been able to settle on which gender he wants to be.
Oh, I dont know.
Seems to me he made his pick when he and his mommy claimed the letters they got disagreeing with him constituted death threats.
In 5-7yrs, he’ll run for US House Rep, and join the other leftists, socialists, fascists, nazis, and commies already moving in now. The next 10-20yrs are going to be unbelieveable.
If you draw a 1500 meter radius circle around every AR owner in the country... It will cover almost everything east of the rockies and a lot of the rest of the country.
I disagree.
Hogg is a punk who knows zip. I highly doubt I could have hit anyone past 450 meters. The range targets pop up and are stationary until you hit them. Then it goes down. I highly doubt I could hit anything moving at 500 meters or more with 18-19 rounds.
I can hit stuff out to 450 meters. I just don’t know what but if it’s in the way, watch out. ;-)
And when did you ever shoot at an NVA, VC, Chinese etc.?
I'm betting on Wymen's Studies.
Over the hill and far far away. :-)
And when did you ever shoot at an NVA, VC, Chinese etc.?
I kinda hate to be the devil’s advocate here, but it is possible, (although pushing the envelope)... With a well-set up AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel or .224 Valkyrie (or a couple of other less common cartridges that will run in an AR-15), with great optics and great skill and a bit of luck.
Although I doubt Davey knows about such exotic things, and thinks that any run of the mill AR-15 in its standard .223 / 5.56 loading can do it.
What did you do in the Navy?
Did you ever see ground combat?
Interior comm tech. One DE and three DDs. Did not see ground action. What’s the implication?
We had none of those items in Vietnam. My entire company of Montagnards had carbines, BAR’s, A6’s etc. That was until late Aug 68. They finally got M16’s, M-60’s, LAW’s, etc. I got a CAR 15 as I was CO. My SF NCO’s, who were awesome , had the yards go to the ARVN 23rd Infantry range in downtown Ban Me Thout. They ran training just like every BCT class got. We zeroed in every weapon at 25 meters. Next we trained the yards on LAW’s south of camp. The three NCO’s I had set up 55 gallon drums in an open area. Next we put claymores out in the open, etc. The yards loved LAW’s.
