Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) called the border wall proposal hammered out by congressional negotiators a big victory for President Trump in an interview with Sirius XMs Breitbart News Daily Wednesday morning.
I think in the end, Trump won a big victory here, because everybody else had folded, he said in the interview with host and Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow.
At Christma stime, everybody else was folding, and just saying, Oh the Democrats gained control of the House, this is the best that well ever do. So he got $1.375 billion for border security that wasnt in there before, he said.

Well done Mr. President!
Great. Another 30 Billion or so and the funding will be complete.
Trump needs to find billions more from the Pentagon and DHS budgets, which should be easy to do.
Finish the Wall!!
Only because it’s more than the dollar napa nan said would NOT be forthcoming?
Amem! No more “vanity project” talk, they are now “in” the wall bizness with him. It’s now a matter of how fast and which other resources can be applied.
Trump had this all along, as I keep tell in’ ya....
Where’s “not one cent” Nancy? At the losers table?
Every long journey begins with one step.
Pelos has been oddly silent.
The paradox exists now for democrats. It’s a full measure project that they have voted for in the past and now with actual budget dollars. They validated the need. They funded it. It will now get done. They can’t make the case to stop it. Even at 1.5 Billion a year, it will get done.
I hope this is a campaign issue in 2020 and the Democrats lose the House because of their refusal to fund the Wall.
He makes a good point. Trump really needed to make some progress on his promise in order to boost his odds for 2020.
I was thinking he should threaten another shutdown, but .......
Yes, I noticed that.
By giving the money, the Democrats can no longer hide behind the view that building walls is immoral.
Rand already said he wasn’t voting for it.
Great. Another 30 Billion or so and the funding will be complete.

Start with defunding Planned Parenthood and NPR and 90% of Section 8 voucher housing and cutting off welfare cheats who are actually able bodied for gainful work. Wow. Now there’s enough to pay a little toward the debt and cut some taxes. This is fun.
All we need now are RINOs and moderate Dems to vote with him for the good of the American people. Why is it so quiet all of a sudden?
Got an email from ALIPAC that says they are trying to sneak in DACA amnesty (DEMS)
Two victories in the deal for Trump.
He gets funding for the wall, though not all that he wanted, and the rest can be bargained for in future negotiations.
He also gets a ‘moral’ victory, and the democrat can’t make the ‘immoral wall’ argument anymore. The partial wall funding will be going towards building the wall, and even a partial wall must’ve been immoral to democrats, but, not anymore. If a partial wall is not immoral, neither was the full wall. It was all about pure politics, and a refusal to give Trump a victory before the 2020 elections. He gets the funding and the victory. “The art of the deal”.
Once a federal project starts, it never stops.
“By giving the money, the Democrats can no longer hide behind the view that building walls is immoral.”
This is the biggest victory, IMO. The Speaker herself must now explain how her party agreed to fund an “immorality”.
Does anyone know how much of the border currently has a legitimate wall?
