CNN's Cillizza Absurdly Rationalizes DOJ Attempt to Remove Trump from Office

CNN's Chris Cillizza on Thursday rationalized the actions of former FBI acting Director, Andrew McCabe, who revealed that he and other top ranking DOJ officials discussed recruiting Cabinet members in order to remove President Donald Trump from office. Cillizza absurdly attempted to justify it.
Cillizza's gimmick was to provide what he calls two ways of looking at what McCabe and his colleagues attempted to do. In the first example which Cillizza provided in a mocking tone was that of Trump supporters who would view this as a deep state coup. The second example respectfully cited was that of Trump opponents (which would include CNN and the author) who looked upon this as merely "removal by means of the Constitution."

Cillizza believes it is perfectly okay for UNELECTED DOJ people to act as arbiters as to the fitness of a duly elected president to remain in office.... As long as that president is Trump.

What would you call a nation where the President must always live under the security apparatus, and where the security apparatus can remove him if he charts a foreign policy course they disagree with?
A police state.

Cillizza is no helpless dunce. He is a propaganda agent for the coup, whose role in promoting it deserves its own investigation.

Also the coup plotters aren’t very bright. Invoke the 25th, ald all the president has to do is certify that he is not disabled and he is right back in office.
That can only be done by 2/3 vote of both houses.
Impeachment is simple majority in the House, and 2/3 in Senate.
It is designed for president being ill. Not as an impeachment shortcut, or a method for the FBI to dispute national policy.

The relevant clause of the 25th Amendment states,
"Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."
The operative word is "UNABLE" -- as constitutional expert Dershowitz says, the legislative history of the 25th Amendment plus its plain language makes clear that this clause is about some extreme physical/mental incapacity such as Woodrow Wilson's stroke, or potentially a near assassination badly wounding a president, etc.
There is zero constitutional basis for a bunch of Deep State thugs like McCabe et al. to try to rally a group of cabinet officials plus the VP to try to overthrow a constitutionally elected POTUS.
This is total "Banana Republic" stuff and worse. Everyone involved, everyone who knew and did/said nothing against it, needs to be excluded from public life forever and PROSECUTED.

In earlier times, tthey’d be building the scaffolds and gallows in the Washington Navy Yard for these seditious conspirators and coup plotters.

I find it ironic that Trump is such a crazy, bad, corrupt guy who has been in the public eye for 30 years yet the left still has to lie about his character and fitness. Even with the most powerful surveillance tools available that still have ugatz.

To begin with, tt was the media who suggested using the 25th to remove Trump, so, the FBI/DOJ were just following what their media buddies/bosses suggested. CNN is just defending their own idea and bias.

Ouderkirk :" Isn't this the SES ? Senior Executive Service "
And wasn't there a big flap-up about Clapper and others
still retaining their top security credentials, after government discharge?
The 'fake news' media pays big money to former officials
who still have the inside edge and contacts,
and are then employed as media commentators.

Imagine if the DOJ and FBI tried to do this to Obama? There would have been executions for everyone involved

Correct on all points. The 25th Amendment was never intended to provide a basis for a politically-motivated action leading to the removal of a President from office. It has been invoked three times, all for medical reasons.
IMO anything even remotely based on political motivation must go through the impeachment/conviction/removal process, and even that would be shaky unless provable criminality was attached (although Prof. Dershowitz disagrees with this view). Trying to use the 25th as an end run around the constitutionally mandated process is illegal and, to be honest, treasonous.

Chris is a co-conspirator in all of this attempted coup.
So are the rest of the DNC controlled media.
I hope they don’t think they are bullet proof.

That’s what got the American Revolution started. Problem for McCabe and the others is that they don’t have facts to justify their insurrection.
Also, they lost. Regardless of the cause, you gotta win the war.

But, if the President opposes what ABCNNBCBS (er, the racist Democrat socialists want), then he IS mentally ill, isn’t he?

Too many ‘journalists’ bought into insane positions... Cillizza can either try to justify the insanity OR he can wake up and realize he's been a fool.
I'm guessing he's not man enough to take responsibility for his own gullibility. Nope, he can face the truth about who he is... who's he's been, and how silly he looks to the rest of us.
