Trump Talks About Fighting the Swamp: ‘I Am Learning’
Breitbart ^ | February 15, 2019 | Neil Munro

President Donald Trump suggested Friday that he is learning not to trust GOP leaders as he pushes for the border wall and promotes his popular pro-American trade and immigration agendas.

“Would have been great to do it earlier,” Trump said about the 2019 appropriation of $1.375 billion for building 55 miles of border wall. He continued his veiled criticism of GOP leaders in Congress:

I was a little new to the job, little new to the profession and we had a little disappointment for the first year-and-a-half. People that should have stepped up didn’t step up. They didn’t step up and they should have. Would have been easy … it would have been a lot easier [than now]. But some people didn’t step up. We’re stepping up now. We have a chance of getting close to $8 billion, whether it’s $8 billion or $2 billion, or $1.5 billion it’s going to build a lot of walls. we’re getting it done. We’re right now in construction with walls in some of the most important areas, and we have renovated a tremendous amount of wall.

The admission came during the February 15 press conference in the Rose Garden, shortly before Trump signed the 2019 spending bill. The law may allow construction of just 55 miles of border wall, it curbs enforcement, and it offers an amnesty option to any illegals who offer to care for some of the children and teenagers who are smuggled into the United States as “Unaccompanied Alien Children.”

In a response to a question, Trump said “I am learning”:

I never did politics before. Now I do politics. I will tell you I’m very disappointed at certain people, particularly one, for not having pushed this faster. but I’ve learned.

He was being awful careful not to name Paul Ryan by name. Ryan hasn’t landed anywhere yet and maybe Trump is trying to avoid antagonizing him.

Only a Democrat could think up something like this.

Aside from Reagan and DJT, the Republican party hasn’t fought for my values in more than six decades. I’d call them useless but that would suggest they haven’t been damaging. They are. When Trump goes, so goes the Republic. I’m sorry I can’t be more optimistic but demographics are our future.

“offers an amnesty option to any illegals who offer to care for some of the children and teenagers who are smuggled into the United States as “Unaccompanied Alien Children.””

so they will just place “unaccompanied Alien Children” with stranger adults allowing them amnesty? or did the writer not word this well?

Yup. Paul Ryan is a traitor. He’s another POS I would like to see go permanently horizontal in a painful manner for what he’s done to this country.

The right attorney general could have set a completely different tone for Trump’s presidency. Jeff sessions was by far the worst swamp creature. And that is on no one but Donald Trump. And I don’t think he’s learned as evidenced by William Barr as the new attorney general. Some of the worst criminal acts in American history have just taken place right under your nose Mr. Trump and I don’t think anything’s going to be done about it. And that’s a disgrace. Stop passing the buck Mr. President. It stops with you.

There should have been only 1 question for the AG candidate. Look at this report from James Comey that lists Hillary Clinton’s crimes., Can you indict her on those? Now that question remains valid along with can you indict her and Obama for a coup attempt. If the candidate answers no, move on to the next candidate.

The rule of law has been critically wounded in the US with so many powerful criminals walking around free.

I still wonder whether Sessions was a swamp plant.

He was the first senator to endorse ‘front-runner’ Trump — February 28, 2016.

It is difficult to believe how pro-Trump he was only to turn into a near-nothing AG, recusing himself and pursuing minimal criminal activity — mostly the use of marijuana.
