Depends on where you live. Up here they start at 100,000. During the height of the oil boom, they gave and extra $500 per month just for showing up to work on time.
It’s hard miserable work, I did it as a kid. My biggest nightmare was when the truck sank frame deep in mud. A D6 cat pulled, another pushed. All brake air lines ripped off. The most fun was hauling the derrick as I drove the tail truck which was always pulled backwards at speeds up to 40 mph.
