lol, I’ve crossed that border many times. No guards whatsoever. Your suppose to check in. I always did. But many don’t.
I agree. Alaska is hugely effected by the narcotics coming across that border with Mexico.

Actually I had the opportunity to work on a tender in the Sitka herring fishery. We delivered the fish to a floating processor ship. And guess who was working there? Mexicans, nothing but Mexicans.
Years ago Alaska was finding illegal Mexicans working in canneries; they are in every state at this point. 20 years ago illegal Mexicans were rare in the NYC metro area (we had tons of Hispanic illegals, but Mexicans were rare). They are everywhere now.

If we see a build-up of Canadian troops at Beaver Creek Alaska is doomed.
Could this eventuate in Fort Sumpter like episode? Alaska troops arrive in, say, California and the California Gov. Newsom sends troops to block them?

My only concern: Russians played a vital role in the history of Alaska. Peter The Great, Vitus Bering, Alexander Baranov. Special Inquisitor Mueller may see this as evidence of Russian collusion and will want to see all the Governor’s emails and financial records.
We need the money. The local economy is in the crapper. At least these folks will be working. And get a tan!
