Yes, why are we spending all kinds of money helping other countries when we have thousands of Vets that are homeless and sick?
It shouldn’t be either/or. This is humanitarian plus straightening out our back yard, which will also save us in the long run.
No reason we can’t do both. And Trump of course has been working hard on straightening out the healthcare side. We have lots of options for the homeless that some homeless vets are passing up on. (And we need an equal standard of care for the non-vet homeless, too.) There are limits as to what we can do there other than enforce laws against vagrancy, etc.
Oh OK. Thanks for clarification. We should take good care of our vets no matter what else we are doing.
Cant let Russia or China become dominant...
Because if there is no help, desperate people will move north by the thousands, disrupting everything on the way.
Agree. We have enough problems to keep our tax dollars tied up without sending it to the ends of the Earth. Venezuela made their bed. It’s what they wanted. No sympathy for them at all. They’ve had years to change things around but they never did. They had years to grow their own gardens, have backyard chickens and goats but they never did.
All those news articles of them dumpster diving because there’s no food is hooey. If everyone was starving, there would be nothing to dumpster dive for. How many times have we seen pictures of dirty people sitting on sacks of potatoes and oranges. How many times do we have to read about farmers who whine because they’re starving. Something is wrong with a story when a farmer with a half dozen healthy looking teenage kids posing for pictures in their front yard without one single tomato plant or beans growing on a wall claim his family is starving. Something also is wrong with stories of street food vendors who claim they have nothing to feed her children.
