Britains richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe (worth £21 billion) is leaving the United Kingdom and the European Union for tax exile in Monaco, depriving the Treasury of up to £4 billion in tax. This is more tax than the entire bottom 40 percent of the British population pay: thats because none of them pays any tax at all.
To understand why Ratcliffe is leaving, you need only glance at the reaction on social media.

I saw an interview with DJT quite a while before he came down that escalator. In it he warned that “the rich are international.” They have homes all over the world. If the tax burden gets too great, they will just move.

England should have listened to Thatcher, when she said that even the poor should pay at least a token tax, to give them a sense of skin in the game instead of just feeders from the trough.
