Its fitting that William Barrs confirmation as attorney general happened just as two powerful law-enforcement figures were trading accusations involving President Trump. Barrs greatest challenge isnt antitrust deals, immigration policy or even handling special counsel Robert Mueller. His overriding challenge is to reboot a Justice Department that has shredded its reputation and lost the confidence of Congress and the public.
Its hard to feel confident in law enforcement when a former deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Andrew McCabe, reveals that a small cabal of unelected senior law-enforcement officers held meetings in May 2017 to plot Trumps removal from office. In an interview with 60 Minutes that aired Thursday and a forthcoming book, McCabe says he and other officials, including Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, did head-counts of which cabinet officials might vote to declare the president unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office under the 25th Amendment. McCabe claims Mr. Rosenstein repeatedly offered to wear a wire when meeting with Trump.

Anyhow, instead of worrying about "a wire", McCabe and a number of others ought to be concerned about a rope these days.
Will indictments ever come? Will this country's government ever be cleansed?
A good number of the "brave" media types are now finally throwing around the word "coup". (It took them long enough.)
When I was growing up and learning my history back in the 50's and 60's, when the word 'coup' was mentioned .... generally severely punished government officials were also mentioned.
We'll see what happens presently. I just hate the smell of rats getting away with foul, evil deeds.
William Barr is a Bush League Republican.
He sees his job as protecting the DOJ, not reforming it.
William Barr is just as anti-gun as Eric Holder!
____
Oh, then it must have been a good idea.

BINGO!.....anyone that has lived in the swamp for any length of time has no desire to expose to “We the People” the total corruption of the IRS..FBI...CIA..DOJ...and Congress as a whole and the complicit news media......
It will take “outsiders” to drain the massive DC swamp..
I support the president completely, but I am often perplexed by his seemingly horrible choices for these most important positions. President Trump needs a team around him who he can trust and yet he picks Bush, Obama, and Clinton retreads.
I don’t get it.

Every pick has to get confirmed by the swamp...
You (and others here) are probably right about Barr, but I’m going to wait a couple of weeks to see if he does anything, or confirm yawl’s suspicions.
Have Hope!
“He sees his job as protecting the DOJ, not reforming it.”
I’ll let some time go by before I make a decision on this.
And if the nominee is qualified to do the job but isn’t a swamp creature he/she wouldn’t be confirmed? Well, then the President would have to go to the people and make his case. Donald Trump is the last hope as far as I can see.
Start with dismantling the FBI

Damn ..... so far there is only one (outsider).
We're finished.
Barr has prima fascia evidence of national security clearance violations against CNN and the entire Mueller team regarding the raid on Roger Stone. The court docket shows the indictment was unsealed at 8:30 am the morning of the raid. CNN was there at 6:00, coordinating for the best optics for the upcoming no-knock raid. Just before the raid at 6:30 counsel for CNN sent Stone’s attorney a copy of the (still sealed) indictment, which is a felony. None of Mueller’s team reported the security breach, which is a felony. All involved should have national security clearance rescinded until proven guilty.
Given the information from McCabe, and the Presidents accusatuon that Rosenweasel engaged in a treasonous coup plot, how can Barr let him stay as Deputy AG? He should be immediately suspended and put in a windowless closet counting paper clips until this is sorted out.
Every pick has to get confirmed by the swamp..."

Bingo ......... where is The Peoples Cube on this?

Okay......
Let’s see-—he covered up Ruby Ridge and the Iran Contra affair. Also would love to take away gun rights. Where does Trump come up with these a$$hats?
___________
"not now"---- lol
He picks swamp creatures instead of getting behind and fighting for an outsider. He just concedes the post without any hint of fight.
Then we have to keep listening to the Trump is all alone arguments.

Solution: Barr should make the entire leadership team re apply for their positions day one. And error on the side of not hiring any of them back.
