Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday ruled out a US Senate bid in 2020, saying he'll "be the secretary of state as long as President Trump gives (him) the chance to serve as a senior diplomat."

"I love doing what I'm doing. I have great warriors around the world, trying to deliver for the American people," Pompeo said on NBC's "Today."

"It's ruled out. I'm here. I'm loving it," he said.

Increases Kobach's chances, but not by much. Schmidt, Colyer, Marshall will all probably run as well.

Agreed. But a senate seat in Kansas for a Republican is Senator for life. And they don't open very often.

“I’m here. I’m loving it,”

And it shows. He’s doing a great job.

I loved Pompeo’s interview on NBC’s AM show a few days ago. He’s really good. The interviewer even gave up trying to trap him.

And, if he were able to rid the State Dept of the radical liberal infestation, that has been in place for decades, and replaced it with people that actually love America and all that it stands for, imagine the work he’d do. Most folks have no idea just how insanely, radically Left that agency is and they’d probably be sick to find out just how bad it is. I’ve seen them in action and overheard their conversations. I’d say, 95% or more, of the State Dept does not have the best interest of America or it’s citizens in mind.

As a friend of mine, who works there, has stated...They weren’t aware they were working for a wing of the Democratic Party when they took the job.

What with ballot harvesting, unpurged voter rolls, and “provisional” ballots, it is harder and harder to be that Republican Senator or Representative from ANYWHERE.

See what happened in Arizona and California in the most recent elections. And has been happening in Minnesota for several cycles now.

Ballot fraud is just a way of life now.

I’d like to see him on the VP ticket in 2024.

He's good right where he is. And he loves what he's doing. Yeh for the good guys.

Seems people he meets like him, too.

“95% or more, of the State Dept does not have the best interest of America or it’s citizens in mind.”

It’s like that in most government agencies.... Even at the state level, and in blue states it’s at the local level.

The 5% who actually do their jobs, and look out for our best interests actually do stop some of the insanity. I think of them as the proverbial Dutch Boy plugging leaks in the dike with their fingers.

Exactly. Who would want to “work” in the senate? Who would want to spends endless time talking, debating and posturing and accomplishing nothing? Total waste of time.

Kind of agree. Most of the agencies are just filled with civil service protected bureaucrats, that will do everything they can to protect their checks and pensions.

The State Dept is a different animal. I’ve dealt with those folks, up close. It’s almost as if you have to take a blood oath, against the USA in order to get a job. And if there’s ever been a government agency that is made up of nothing but cronyism and nepotism, I challenge you to find one as bad as the State Dept. They only hire from within their Leftist Circle of Trust.

I will say, however, that it appears as though the CIA, NSA, and DIA are making a go at becoming a Leftist, Anti American haven. At least on the Intel-Analyst side of things. The Operational folks, the ones that eat meat, are still about the Red, White and Blue.

EPA. If you haven’t chugged the global warming koolaid by the gallon you have no chance there either.

A start for change is to get rid of these government employee unions.

That would go a long, long way in clearing out the nest. I don’t remember being asked to pay for a State Dept employee to be able to go to school, full time, get paid as if they’re working and get their Master’s Degree paid for. Do you?
