A new Pax Americana is emerging on the world stage, where an assertive, confident America is reshaping the nature of the international order. President Trump has changed the power dynamic with every major global adversary around the world, vastly strengthening America’s position, and decimating the economies and future prospects of our most vociferous global opponents, from Russia, to China, to Iran, to Venezuela, to the eviscerated remnants of ISIS.

How does the natural gas that Israel recently discovered factor into all of this. The Russian military has played a large roll next door in Syria lately. I doubt that they are there for humanitarian reasons.

The husband of a friend is a huge neocon. I find him almost worse than the lefties in our blue state nighmare because they just spout their NPC baloney and I ignore it and nobody demands I respond. But he thinks he can educate me and insists we have conversations about things like why low taxes and regulation are great bur Brexit is wrong, illegal immigration is necessary for business, etc. One of his recent screeds was about how we are able to paradoxically maintain a Pax Americana by judicious application of war all over the globe and so we must always be at war in places where we have no real reason to be like Syria and Afghanistan, just to show that we can and will wage war.

This is the kind of guy that lefties can look at and say "see, I told you conservatives were evil"
