Latin American artists from throughout the hemisphere convened in Cúcuta, Colombia, Friday, on the border with Venezuela, for the Richard Branson-sponsored Venezuela Aid Live concert to demand dictator Nicolás Maduro allow international aid into the country. The long list of diverse artists many who have been household names in Latin America for decades did not shy away from making political statements in support of Venezuelas legitimate president, Juan Guaidó, and demanding that Maduro step aside. Several artists indulged the audience in what has become a common back-and-forth chant at anti-socialist protests: Maduro, ¡el coño de tu madre! or Maduro, your mothers cunt, which was also featured as a lyric in the first song performed at the concert.
Among the most extensive remarks offered by artists was by José Luis Rodríguez, also known as El Puma, a Venezuelan romantic singer popular throughout the continent for decades.
I thank God and my beloved Christ for letting me see this day, for letting me see a free Venezuela, that He didnt take me away before seeing this, Rodríguez said before his performance. I want to thank Brazil, thank you to our beloved Colombia, and to the United States for the help and solidarity they have had with us.
It is so simple to ask for freedom after 20 years of dictatorship, of Marxist populist dictatorship that is tending to end throughout Latin America. It is not much to ask: enough of left-wing dictatorships in Latin America, he demanded, adding that the blood of the hundreds of peaceful protesters the Maduro regime has killed since coming to power in 2013 will not be spilled in vain, it will lead us to freedom.

How was the Branson fella able to pull it off on such short notice?
Live Aid? That was 1985.
“How was the Branson fella able to pull it off on such short notice?”
He’s a billionaire and he used capitalism.
Thru Colombia at the Venezuela border. Colombia has a vested interest in Maduro out as they have venezuelans fleeing into their country and families going there to sell their possessions for food.
This is one of these times, where someone has actually *EARNED* their title, IMO.
Arise, SIR Richard Branson! Today you are indeed an actual knight.
None of their baseball players on stage to cat as MC’s? I figure they could introduce some of the acts.
Did anyone there mention POTUS Trump’s support of the Venezuelan People and the Humanitarian Aid the USA sent?
Just askin’....
Roger Waters is very sad.
Richard Branson just went way up in my eyes. He’s not a conservative by any stretch, but props to him just the same.
WHERE THE FFFF HAVE THEY BEEN???
These poor people have been eating dogs and cats while Latin celebs feasted and deigned!!!!!
They must have been waiting for their leader AOC.
But she’s got her hands full crushing jobs in her congressional district.
Yeah, so they couldn’t wait for her!
Yes if you read further in the article. I also know a venezuelean currently in this crapshow. He has changed his tune in the last few months. The horrors he has told me is sad. Venezuelans have seen Trumps speech and are galvanized. They really are.

Wow El Puma was there. I was wondering what happen to him. He was my mother’s favorite but for daddy he didn’t care for his singing. LOL
Because it is almost impossible to save people from themselves.
Venezuelans voted themselves in to this mess.
Even after 100 years of history showing that Marxism kills millions of people every year fall to the siren song of The Rich are keeping us poor Inequality is because the rich have too much and we need to take more of what they have and give it to those who dont have enough. And the worst of it all The government can do it better
And let me add; Richard you and your pals can not lift anyone out of poverty. If you feed them today, who is going to feed them tomorrow? If they dont lift themselves out of poverty, they will always be in poverty.
If you and others keep feeding them they will never be able to feed themselves.
This particular aid is good in that it is only short term to prevent starvation but perennial aid to the same country year in and year out is counterproductive.
