I got tired of Emmett Till stories many years ago. He’s a prop used by racists to beat white people up. It’s disrespectful to him, insulting to me, and just plain boring.
Indeed - same with the Matthew Shepard / Laramie Project case- proven to be that Shepard was murdered in a robbery gone haywire over the drugs he was selling and not because he was gay. Popular mythology still convinces the public at large however that Shepard was killed by white “homophobes” (whatever that is)
