Which is why those who came over in the prior to the time of the deliberate false interpretation of the Constitution worked on becoming citizens as quickly legally as possible. They knew that part of their families would become Natural Born Citizens vs Naturalized Citizens. (I’m hoping I stated that correctly, so as not to discredit the general intent of my statement.)
The millions of immigrants following later have no such desire as they have been assured via Liberals, Progressives, and ignorant Conservatives that they only have to present themselves on our soil to get the benefits.
I agree with your statement about anchor babies. But it needs to be clarified in court. Someone needs to find a good case and begin the judicial determination. Like you, I believe the original intent is clear, but politics has muddied it up!!

U.S. records show he retained diplomatic immunity until about 3 months after she was born. It was the Obama administration who revoked her U.S. passport on the grounds she was not a U.S. citizen and they said the passport should never have been issued.Thanks for the facts.

It is not just that.
Let's say a diplomat has a son born in a country where they have the draft. Without that protection they would be able to try to take him when he turned 18. Or 16 some places.
It can get sticky so for simplicity children of diplomats are considered legally only citizens of what ever country they are from.
Not just a US rule. It is a standard diplomatic agreement.

No, xkaydet65, it’s not. Logic instructs that the way a parent feels, acts, reacts, is often the way the child will be raised. A country cannot stand divided.
The child was intended by the forefathers to retain the citizenship of the parent until they reached the age of maturity and which point they could chose which nation to swear allegiance.
If there were no way for the child to chose the citizenship under the forefathers instruction, then I would agree with you. A nation, however, must be careful in its peoples.
Allowing any child born on American soil to automatically become a citizen by simple birth is actually part and parcel of why we’re in the mess we are in at this time.
Parents not having to make a decision and still reaping benefits. By what? Simply birthing a child? No working towards showing this country their allegiance? No.
Citizenship is an honor.
It needs to be earned.
Interestingly, we can revoke the citizenship of Naturalized citizens should they violate our laws. As most countries do around the world.
What we do not do is remove citizenship from those who are granted it simply by birth. Assuming it is because the parents made a decision to become citizens prior to the birthing of said child/children.
The sad truth is many born on this country’s soil do not appreciate what they have been blessed with, as a nation. Or why it needs to be guarded so carefully.
