You have no idea how bad it is. My daughter suffers from hyperandrogenism, which causes all sorts of issues including gender dysphoria. I can’t even get treatment for her condition; the doctors are pushing her to transition instead. It’s a horror show. Meanwhile, I have a kid that’s suicidal because her endocrine system is jacked up!
Universities of higher learning once encompassed teaching and discovery’s of universal knowledge. Now they are purveyors of leftist dogma subject to censorship of filtered pc propaganda.
Of course, they are stifling public debate. They engender fear for that purpose.

An academic has challenged a decision by Bath Spa University to refuse him permission to research trans regret. Psychotherapist James Caspian wanted to study people who had undergone “sex-change” operations only to later regret their decision and seek to reverse their transition. His research proposal was rejected by the university for being “politically incorrect.”
The narrative is more important than the truth.

What is really cares about is control of the language. Transgenderism is just one of many opportunities to expand that control.
Once the Left has expanded its control such that it can stifle any criticism of itself (i.e. any criticism of socialism/communism), it has effectively killed its opposition.
Rest assured, if a socialist/communist/fascist/totalitarian government, once fully in power, determines that transgendered folks or homos for that matter are a drain on its system, it's off to the gas chambers for such folks.
