Not sure why these background checks failed to identify past convictions. There was a history of violence.

I’m interested in learning the autopsy results and suspect they might be more relevant, especially if THC is found.

You can download a copy of the active records in the FBI’s NICS indices as of 31 Dec 2018. It lists the numbers by state for each disqualifying factor.

My state has only 18 entries for ‘unlawful drug user’, which is hilarious, since our tiny county has more than that many convictions each week.

Illinois has only 16,047 felons listed, whereas Indiana (with a population half that of Illinois) has 457,554 felons in the database.

If the states don’t send data to the FBI, people don’t get rejected by FFLs.
