Russian state TV on Sunday listed potential targets in the U.S. in the event of a nuclear strike and claimed that its new hypersonic missile technology could reach them in less than five minutes.
Reuters called the report “unusual even by the sometimes bellicose standards of Russian state TV.” The targets included the Pentagon and Camp David. The report came days after Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the U.S. against deploying intermediate-range missiles in Europe. ..."
The Guardian reported that other U.S. sites included Maryland’s Fort Ritchie, McClellan air force base in California and Jim Creek naval communications base in Washington state.

A single SSBN or PLARB as the Russians call them is targeting up to 200 targets it is capable to hit in one salvo at any time. A combined triad of naval, air and land-based strategic forces is aimed at enormous number of targets. It is out of question why any military installation or population center is targeted. The whole point is an assured destruction of as many bases and population centers as possible.

Why would they target a closed Air Force base? McClellen has been closed for 30 years and is now a business park and super fund sight.

Jim Creek was noted over Bangor, hmmmmm.
Bangor is the home to our sub fleet.
But Jim Creek, is the most powerful low frequency transmitter in the world that we use to contact our subs and ships at sea.
Our subs clearly have the Russians intimidated.

McClellan AFB - they must have an old play book...It was closed in 2001...but maybe they rely on people from “Rio Linda” for their updates!

I had an old Air Force missile guy in high school who taught math in the 1980’s. He would tell us about primary and secondary targets if it came to WWIII.
Primary: Command & Control, Washington DC, NYC, the Pentagon, Omaha, bomber bases, land based ICBM’s bases and naval bases which would have any SSBN’s in port. Anything that they could take out in a first strike that we would hit them back with or be able to tell our guys, hit’em back.
Secondary targets would be other military bases without strategic nukes and naval assets. On down the list cities that built tanks or nukes, Detroit, Oak Ridge, Los Alomos...
