Bernie’s Bread Lines and Revolution
American Spectator ^ | February 27, 2019 | Paul Kengor

Posted on 02/27/2019 6:31:41 AM PST by Twotone

Not many presidential candidates in American history, outside perhaps a Eugene Debs or Gus Hall, would announce a presidential bid vowing to “transform the country” and complete “the political revolution.” Then again, not many candidates have been like Bernie Sanders, a lifetime socialist who, in the 1980 presidential campaign, when normal people were deciding between Carter or Reagan, served as a presidential elector for the Socialist Workers’ Party. And yet, this onetime Trotskyist and member of a Marxist-Stalinist kibbutz received 13 million votes in the 2016 Democratic Party primary, or 40% of Democrat votes.

This isn’t your granddaddy’s Democratic Party, junior.

In the few days since Bernie last week announced his resurrection of the revolution, various sources, including a local cable station in Vermont, have been posting blasts from Bernie’s past. These include extraordinary footage of his June 1988 Soviet honeymoon and his outlandish observations on everything from Cuba to Nicaragua. It’s a potpourri of political insanity. A mere glimpse of a middle-aged Bernie extolling collectivist glories from Managua to Moscow ought to prompt any rational human to not vote for him for dogcatcher of St. Petersburg let alone president of the United States.

Among Bernie’s wide-eyed whoppers, however, is one that ought to give every sentient American pause.

The swamp hates Bernie. Not sure who they want, maybe Biden. But Bernie will not be so easy to knock down. And he will take the air out of the room for a while.

Trump should ignore him. Bernie will keep others out of the spot light so long that they will fade away. I think Beto should fight Bernie. He is likely the darling that could get fence sitting white women to vote democratic. Since Kennedy, democratic presidents have been fairly good looking young men. With the exception of Johnson who was a special case, Kennedy, Carter, Clinton and Obama got to office with the “hes so cute” vote from old white ladies. Let Bernie go after Beto, And Trump can take on the winner.

Someone on FB refered to the people searching through Venezuela’s garbage trucks for food as “Bernie’s Buffet. “

All socialists and communists understand that a federally planned economy and services cannot ever be installed in America with the intentionally fractured and balanced government we have now.

Our Constitution was written specifically to prevent any type of power consolidation.

Out 2 party system further guarantees that.

Only nazi-style, fascist, leninist, dictator-driven government can obtain that kind of power nationally.

All the democrats can ever do is nip at the edges and create socialist leaning states within our Republic.

They can try to drive the polls and nightly news by braying like a pack of mules and get some minor victories here and there.

It is not in the nature of America to fall for it large scale.

If Sanders had AOC’s ambition it could be a much larger problem.
