That's why they make 40 foot ladders.

That's why they also make "all the new technology going in with them"

“That’s why they make 40 foot ladders.”

That’s close to what Rick Perry the governor of Texas said when he was running for president. He said and I believe it was something along the lines of “if you build a 30-foot wall you’ll have a run on 32 foot ladders”

At the time I thought it was pretty witty because at that point in time I don’t think they were talking about a whole bunch of infrastructure or other security issues backing up the barrier. Which is a more sensible approach as the wall alone would not be enough.

You won’t have three year old kids and 9 mo. pregnant women climbing those 40’ ladders though.

Climb the ladder on one side and rappel down the other side???

Not a good life choice.

"That's why they make 40 foot ladders."

With ropes and ladders, people climb Mount Everest - but not a lot of people.

18 foot bollards will defeat the great majority of people from climbing, breaching or tunneling - even more so the more imposing 30 foot bollards. They can withstand being rammed by a speeding truck. Once the heavy construction of installing such massive barriers and grading the land for clear observation and all weather patrol road is complete, it is relatively quick and inexpensive to add extra features where needed, like an electrified conductor along the top, additional sensors/alarm systems, or good old concertina.

The military deployment to the border will continue emplacing concertina at least until September. They are able to make bollards much more resistant to simple ladder attempts. Here is a recent example from Nogales, AZ:

A 40’ ladder will get you to the top,
but you have to drop down the other
side. 30’ falls hurt....I realise
your sarcasm, but I’ve heard the rats
use this excuse. Makes me laugh.

I understand your point but I can tell you that very few men and no women will climb a 40 foot ladder to cross the wall.

A 40’ ladder at 60 degrees will reach about 35 ‘. That is a perilous climb and since there is no ladder on the opposite side being on top is a problem

The point is that while there can be a ladder that will allow one to climb over, very few can.

Oh and btw..... climbing that ladder without a safety tie off is a violation of OSHA regulations above 4’ off the ground

Ladders are not an issue for the most urgent problem... Keeping the pregnant illegal aliens out... They won’t climb a 40-ft ladder, particularly if all ladders are sprayed with old engine oil as soon as they are put up... That would be intelligent recycling...

This is a joke. right?

I hear Dems say this stuff all the time, “Jose will just bring a 40 foot ladder to the border” has never attempted to carry or maneuver one.

Most people can’t carry a 6 foot ladder very far for that matter.
