Introducing Hayhoe, a co-author of the study, the host wondered: “You are a scientist, yet you said when it comes to dealing with climate change and talking about it, get out of your head, get into your heart, and find shared values. Why?” Hayhoe responded: “So often we think that we have to be an environmentalist or a liberal to care about a changing climate....We only have to be a human living on planet Earth to care.”
In her follow-up, Golodryga seemed frustrated that there was even the need for a discussion: “But why does it have to become political, I guess is the question that I’m asking, and why is this a debate at all?” Hayhoe lamented: “It’s gotten political because of the solutions. Many of us have been told that the only solutions to climate change are to destroy the economy and let the government set our thermostat.”
Co-host John Dickerson chimed in with condescension toward climate change skeptics: “So what you’re saying about the debate over solutions, when you hear people doubting the science, is it your view basically what they’re really doing is they’re doubting the solutions and they’re just making it look like they’re doubting the science?”
Hayhoe agreed and commiserated over having to deal with such people: “Exactly. I’ve had thousands of conversations, and every single conversation I’ve had, including two just yesterday, within 30 seconds pivoted from ‘It’s just a natural cycle’ to ‘The Green New Deal is a socialist plot.’” Her remarks were met with a round of laughter from the hosts, who didn’t bother to ask a single question about the extreme measures called for in the Democratic proposal.

Yep. I’ve said for years that, of education, knowledge and wisdom, the greatest is wisdom and the least is education.
Education = someone tried to stuff knowledge into your brain, but it doesn’t mean a bit of it got through or stuck past final exams.
Knowledge = makes you the peer of my hard drive.
Wisdom = you have the ability to correctly interpret and apply knowledge.
A lot of these global warming “experts” have an education, but often prove, thought their statements and articles, that none of it stuck. And even for those where it did stick, time has proven that their interpretation of the facts they learned is woefully lacking.
Every model that has been given time to be proven - has failed miserably.
When the ice age becomes obvious, which hasn’t happened but is within the realm of being as possible as catastrophic warming. How are we to keep warm?
I mean what happens if the CLIMATE CHANGE happens and we have a mile thick sheet of Ice over much of North America? Are they going to still be telling us we need a “green new deal” to transition to solar and wind? No more burning of trees, coal, gas or oil to stay warm.
If you don’t have solar panels on your dream home in the Arctic tundra, we are just screwed?

Give me a solution to the problem and a mitigation plan in case the solution fails and I will take a serious look at it. Declaring there is a global problem and the solution is to tax Americans more is a joke.
It’s amazing. Science is ABOUT skepticism. I require PROOF...not just theories programmed into “computer models” that are not evidence of anything.

Several millennia ago, tribes of people would offer sacrifices to the Gods in an attempt to placate them; so that the tribes would receive fair weather, bountiful crops, and so on.
Little has changed.
Yeah, well the 50+ feet of snow that’s some areas of the Sierra have gotten so far this winter may want to debate the warming trend. LOL!
Their saying why is there a debate at all, typifies liberal radical thinking, in my opinion.
They take the position that there can be no debate or discussion of the issues involved.
Ocasio-Cortez brushed off questions about the cost of her plans, saying we have only 12 years to deal with this, implying that the cost or how things get paid for just doesn’t matter, and isn’t worthy of discussion.
I would love to see some open honest debates about all of this. Ocasio-Cortez and her minions should be asked: what if America does all this, making radical changes to our society and economy, but polluting nations such as China and India don’t cut back their activities?
Isn’t it possible that their continued industrial development and pollution will simply cancel out anything we do? And then the earth is still going to crash and burn, per their criteria? Then what are we supposed to do?
Why is there a debate at all? Oh, I guess because dumb people want to impose dumb solutions, and even dumber people think we should have nothing to say about that. They’re lucky it’s just a debate and not a firefight.
Would it EVER occur to her that, if THOUSANDS of people uniformly agree it's a hoax, then maybe IT IS a hoax? Why does she deny the valid opinion of thousands of people?
