Heather MacDonald, author of books including The War on Cops and The Diversity Delusion, is the scheduled guest on tomorrow's "In-Depth" on C-Span2. The program runs live from noon to 3:00 EDT and will feature MacDonald discussing her work and responding to viewer call-ins and emails. MacDonald's books usually take on provocative topics with well- researched and reasoned arguments, and this should be an interesting three hours.

In-Depth has been an enjoyable C-Span2 feature for years, allowing solid non-fiction authors to engage in substantial discussions of their work and respond to questions and comments from viewers for an extended period of time - very little sound-bite and hit-and-run TV content for a change. The usual format has been to alternate conservative and more leftwing authors every other month, but recently the program seems to have left the rails, going to fictional writers and writers of dubious intellectual merit, like David Korn. Looks like they're back on the right track again with Heather MacDonald, to strain the metaphor.

I’ve been reading her book “the war on cops” it’s amazing anyone will do that job. She’s a very good author.

A couple of years ago she wrote an article about the high percentage of minority high school seniors that are failing. I emailed her a question about the article and she responded with some of her research as attachments. I was very appreciative and impressed.
