Actually I have, since we own a second home in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Carmel Beach is wonderful and you can run your dog on it without a leash. Sunset Beach, the State Beach further south is another story. Gun-toting “rangers” who seem to relish making life miserable for the people who pay their salaries.
We visited Carmel beach in the 1970s and were informed we could not take away any seashells! Being a kid, I stuffed my pockets full of them! And so began my life of crime....
