EPA Chief Tells Us the Real 'Biggest Threat' to the Environment

Some of Wheeler's decisions have, not unexpectedly, upset progressives. For instance, his move to roll back President Obama's Clean Power Plan. Ask Wheeler, however, and he'll tell you it wasn't technically a rollback because the plan never saw the light of day. The plan, which was intended to address CO2 emissions from the electric power sector, was immediately stayed by the Supreme Court.

That's because Obama's plan "was outside the law," Wheeler explained. After some research, his team provided a new proposal, the Affordable Clean Energy Rule, which will reduce CO2 by 33 to 34 percent on a facility by facility basis. Best of all, he said, "it follows the law." In fact, CO2 emissions have been on an decline since 2005, he noted, thanks to "sensible regulations."

"Worldwide I believe the biggest threat is water," he answered. "The fact that we have a million people a year dying from the lack of potable water worldwide. I think that's a crisis."

As for climate change activists who insist we solve the problem, "you're talking about hypothetical deaths 50 or 100 years from now."

Wheeler said President Trump shares his concerns about water. Together, they are taking a look at aging water infrastructure across the country. The EPA administrator said he just returned from Baltimore, where they signed a new loan agreement with the city to help them with their aging infrastructure. The EPA signed eight of those in the past year and have 30 to 40 planned for the year ahead.

Probably the Clean Power Plan will not get mention by the demoprogs that it was never enacted. Instead, they'll bring out the evil coal plant pollution and that the new EPA guy used to be a lobbyist for coal. Yawn. Thank you PDJT.

I live in California - I can damn be sure of the fact that the lack of reservoirs and the shoddy conditions of the ones we have is a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger problem than the phony, seemingly existential “issue” of climate change.

Mr. Wheeler is 100% correct.

Of all the things the little marxists worry about they miss the one that is a lingering concern of mine. What is it? Water soluble drugs, hormones and chemicals in our water that just don’t go away. Women in this country have voided enough hormones from birth control pills to sterilize several stadiums of people. Dilution can only be the solution for a short time.

[[As for climate change activists who insist we solve the problem, “you’re talking about hypothetical deaths 50 or 100 years from now.”]]

His answer should have been in the form of a Question “What problem?” There is No problem- natural cyclical warming and coolijng trends have always happened and will continue happening- we can’t do a damn thing about it- IF wheeler was serious about science, He would point out several devastating FACTS that prove man isn’t causing climate change- but nope- He’s just pussyfooting around the politically correct agenda hoping not to be called bad names i guess?

There is a ton of scientific fact proving man isn’t causing climate change- but the fact that republicans don’t study them and use them shows they are NOT serious about stopping this scam once and for all! They are playing along- knowing that dems will enact strict expensive fines regulations, taxes and carbon credits- which the GOP will benefit from as well

When i ran a blog trying to make people aware that man can’t possibly be causing climate change-, and I contacted Sen Inhoffe (who was on a panel for combating the lie of ‘man-caused’ climate change at the time) and asked him why republicans won’t fight back with facts and science since there is so much that this scam could easily be defeated- and he basically stated it was because of the amount of money involved- not in so many words, but that was the gist of what he said-

I knew then the scam was going to become the ‘New Truth’- I watch fox news and note that NOONE does their homework when the topic of climate change comes up- and they are clueless- either that or they are under orders to suppress the truth- it’s infuriating knowing that there is a ton of evidence proving we aren’t to blame, but noone in media ever brings it up- Just an hour spent on mar morano’s site ‘climatedepot.org is enough to arm them with enough evidence to put the lie to ‘man-caused’ climate change-

Hey, we’re busy stacking a whole crap load of snow into the Sierras to try to help. So far this winter, Squaw has gotten between 364’ at 6,200’ and 591” at the 8,000 elev. That’s at least a couple of feet. And more coming this week.

He’s absolutely right about water and water infrastructure.

Example: A little town in eastern Colorado had to have a major road upgrade this year. The entire road got torn up which means gas, sewer and waterlines were upgraded and repaired, as well as storm drainage.

When they dug up the water lines, there weren’t any lines. What existed was enclosed, wood canals which were rotten and full of slime. No wonder the water tasted so horrible there!

Furthermore, the water travels from an area of wells a few miles away, and containes radiation. High rate of cancer in that area.

That’s one small example among a nation full of issues.

"The fact that we have a million people a year dying from the lack of potable water worldwide. I think that's a crisis."

A problem being addressed by churches and mission groups. Likely more than any government.

I just wish everyone with a brain would stop conceding the CO2 reduction mantra.

You are so correct...he should have just said the entire CO2 being the cause of the climate warming, cooling or staying the same is a THEORY, and a weak THEORY at that.
There is zero, none, nada evidence that atmospheric CO2 has any influence on global climate.

"...Water soluble drugs, hormones and chemicals in our water..."

BINGO, and the upper Midwest is flushing a zillion tons of that crap right down the Mississippi.

Note: that includes birth control chemicals, and remnants of chemical abortifacients.

If carbon fuels, CO2, H2O, etc, are such huge problems to the world, why not lock up a bunch of young chemical engineering gradutates in a building, feed them some chemical and electrical formulas and kick them in the ass until they come up with a solution? First thing you know they may find a cheap way to desalinate and purify sea water, convert water to hydrogen and oxygen fuel and convert CO2 to useful fertilizer and plant food. Hey, maybe they can find something useful to do with methane swamp gas as a byproduct.

[[There is zero, none, nada evidence that atmospheric CO2 has any influence on global climate.]]

There is evidence that it does not- ice core samples show that temperatures rise hundreds of years FIRST, and then CO2 rises- there is no way CO2 can be driving rising temperatures- the facts prove it-

If I get indigestion, and then a year later eat a stick of bubble gum, I can NOT blame the indigestion on that stick of gum- that’s a fact- in the case of warming- again- warming happens, then hundreds of years later CO2 rises- how can CO2 possibly be causing the temps to rise if the level stayed the same for hundreds of years, and only then began to rise? Common sense tells us it could not possibly be the cause-

The myth of man-caused climate change is built on unrealistic assumptions put forth by self-loathing people who demand we feel guilty and pay a heavy price just for being alive-

So what about the outrages CAFE standards Obongo shoved through at the end? Trump said he was going to “review” them.

What makes me crazy is that I could stand in front of my local supermarket and ask 100 people if they believed human activity was causing the earth’s climate to change, and 90 would say absolutely.
If I asked the same peeps to tell me the chemical formula for carbon dioxide, I’m guessing maybe a couple could.

I do this with friends...I ask educated, seemingly intelligent people what is more acidic...a solution with a pH of 3 or 10? You would be amazed at how few people can answer this correctly.

This entire CO2 hoax is made possible by the science illiteracy of the population.

I like this idea, Jim. Call it the Engineering draft or lottery. They are serving our country for a few years and every engineering graduate is in the pool.

Maybe the engineers chosen are not greenhorns right out of engineering school, but more seasoned engineers.

If they get a low draft number, they are serving for two years.

Better yet, Trump could create an engineering Peace Corps — turn it into an elite task force where people compete to join.

[[This entire CO2 hoax is made possible by the science illiteracy of the population.]]

Bingo- the greatest scam ever- the people that thought it up knew the masses were too lazy to check out the facts for themselves- and the inventors knew that all you had to do was convince mankind they should be ashamed for being alive, and they would agree to pay anything to pay for the crime of life-

>>>"Worldwide I believe the biggest threat is water," he answered. "The fact that we have a million people a year dying from the lack of potable water worldwide. I think that's a crisis."

Which is why the left and their A21 buddies will hate him. They WANT 1 million a year dying. To them, the planet needs about 350K a DAY to die and the population needs to be around 1 Billion. That's the goal. The easiest way to do that is to keep clean, potable water out of the mouths of people worldwide.

It is remarkable how actual science is completely omitted from the discussion.

I mentioned the ice core analysis to a friend and he ranted on about how inaccurate the data is...that analyzing entrapped atmosphere in ice was not reliable.

I ‘splained how for decades there has been instrumentation that can analyze fluid inclusions in igneous rocks and this data can tell much about the chemistry and temperature during the formation of deep-formed igneous rocks. And if this type of analysis can be done on granites, it would be pretty simple to do it with ice.

My friend mainly did not want to discuss it any longer; and that is the problem...whenever actual science is invoked, most, (and I mean MOST) people prefer to end the discussion.
