"Dont wait for things to get that bad before you find your voice and your conscience. As Solzhenitsyns character [ME: Good God Man...it isn't a 'character' in a play or a novel, that was Solzhenitsyn himself!!!!] Solzhenitsyn reflects in The Gulag Archipelago:
How we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if
during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward...
To me, that is one of the most powerful paragraphs written in one of the most powerful books ever written. We should take heed.
Don't ANY of us surrender.
Blood and soil is an anachronism. Just like fixed defenses. Its just blood now.
“Don’t ANY of us surrender.”
Don’t ANY of us ever surrender any of our weapons !
I am not. I know that surrender leads to the camps where one is starved as they await slaughter and individuals such as Hillary Clinton come by to gloat. I am not saying that I will be a hero. I am not saying that I will do great things. All I am saying is that I will not go to one of Hillary’s camps.
I just finished The Gulag Archipelago and it is scary to look at the parallels between the book and what the left is doing here today.
