Sen. Martha McSally, the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat, disclosed during an emotional Senate hearing on Wednesday she was "preyed upon and then raped" in the Air Force by a superior officer.
The Arizona Republican, who served 26 years in the Air Force, made the disclosure during a Senate hearing on sexual assault allegations in the military. McSally said she didn't report the assault because she didn't trust the system, and was ashamed and confused.
My drive to fight against sexual assault in the ranks is not from the outside looking in," McSally began. "And it is deeply personal."
McSally said that during her military career, she was "greatly privileged to prepare and then lead my amazing Airmen in combat, which is the apex responsibility of any warrior leader."

Too bad no one trained her to fight back.
Or do they not teach people how to fight in the Air Force.
I don’t believe liberal women. Period.
It was posted yesterday, and most did not believe her.
She may be setting up the narrative that if you don’t vote for her, you are on the same plain as her alleged rapist.
These are the consequences of a coed military. You can’t stuff young single guys and girls together under confined stressful conditions and expect no consequences. Our ancestors knew it, every society in history up until the 20th century knew it, but we’ve forgotten it somehow.
If this story is true, that “superior” officer should be arrested and put in the Federal Prison for life!
Another victim?
Sure she was. She refuses to name the offending superior officer. She learned well from the Blasey Ford drama. If you name the attacker and the when, we might learn he was in Antarctica then. We might learn she dated the guy and he helped her career.
SO she slanders probably 150 guys who were her superior officers.
Also, this was the early 90s post tailhook era so it was very safe for her to report it. Also she was connected to her eyeballs and had no problem suing over DOD policy for females in Saudi Arabia.
She left the rapist out there to pray on other woman , and is till protecting him today. Not very becoming of an officer. IMHO
So Martha goes to the Dark Side for her run to keep the Senate appointment seat.
Should play well with the outraged wife gang in Peoria and Glendale. Think she’s on to something here!
But she refuses to name the individual. If, in fact, he even exists. In doing so, she besmirches the reputation of EVERY officer who was in command authority over her.
Why is it that all the women Ive known thru the years would have reported a crime like this in a minute?
i call bs on this crap, my money says she got sloppy drunk then got laid and regrets her poor decision making capabilities
Well we know it wasn’t Col. Lyndsey Graham
I guess I’m gonna have to vote for Mark Kelly then ?
Weeee-Waaaaw, Weee-waaaaaw
Mee Too alarm.
No due process, no formal charge or investigation.
She should put up or shut up. A failure to bring charges or a suit against the perpetrator will result in her loss of office in election.
Its our law, now get with it McSally or quit whining.
She’s gotta keep up in the PC PR sweepstakes with dyke leftist Kyrsten Sinema
It should be an interesting trial. I assume she has evidence - at least if she expects to win.
#ibelieveher and #metoo are all tapped out.
I’m sure women POWs will be treated much better.
