“I believe Abeid (Abeed) translated = slave.”

In Modern Standard Arabic, Abdul is slave (e.g. Abdullah - slave of Allah). Coincidentally, Abd, the root of Abdul (slave), is also a common Arabic term for black people.

But there are many local dialects of Arabic, and Arabic has more words for slave and the many different gradations of servitude than any other major language.

Kind of how Eskimos (Innuit) have many different words for variations snow and ice, and Hawaiians have many for the different states and types of lava.

Lots of words for family/relatives that we don't have either. Cultures see the world through through their ability to measure and express...
