2020 Democrats aim to make inroads in rural America

DENMARK, S.C. (AP) — Deanna Miller Berry doesn’t often see presidential candidates. So when New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker recently came to Bamberg County, South Carolina, she was primed to unload about a contaminated water system.

“What is your plan to fix it?” Berry asked, her eyes narrowed.

Booker, former mayor of Newark, the largest city in the most densely populated state, assured Berry he cares about the 3,000 residents of Denmark, South Carolina. “This is a time in America where too many people are feeling left out, left behind, not included,” he said, promising “a massive infrastructure investment” targeting “forgotten” places.

The exchange highlights the effort by Democratic presidential candidates to make inroads in rural America. With the first contests unfolding next year in South Carolina, Iowa and New Hampshire, small-town voters will play a critical role in choosing the next Democratic nominee. And the early attention could help the eventual nominee be more conversant on rural issues and compete for votes in places that gave President Donald Trump his most intense support in 2016.

“Organizing in every precinct is the key to winning both the caucus and the general election in Iowa,” Iowa Democratic Chairman Troy Price said.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders lamented rural decline during an Iowa swing this weekend.

“All over America, we have tragically seen more and more young people leave the small towns they grew up in, the small towns they love, because there are no decent-paying jobs in those towns — we intend to change that,” Sanders said, drawing cheers at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

“Soon there will be no jobs anywhere!”.

So, Booker was asked a direct question and tap danced around it, not answering it, but throwing enough BS her way that she was probably satisfied with his response.

No way I could ever be a politician. I can’t think of that much BS that fast.

Democrat government spending will come from Middle Class pay checks. The millionaires and billionaires fund the Democrat politicians, so they will never pay the percentage of income in taxes that the Middle Class pays.

2020 Democrats aim to make inroads in rural America

Banning Fox News from covering the DNC is probably not a good start. Fox News is overwhelmingly popular in rural areas.

Rural America can’t wait to embrace infanticide, communism, pot and prostitution?

I’ve been hearing for two plus years that Rural America is filled with nothing but idiot hayseed Trump voters. Why now the pivot to rural voters? I thought the flow of illegal alien votes would be enough!

Why would a Rep from New Jersey visit a small town in South Carolina, and why would Cory Booker, of all people, care?

I smell a set up for a sound bite and the newsies. Does Deanna really exist, and if so does she really live in said small town? In any case, the question was obviously set up.

Promise to increase everybody’s favorite crop subsidies and they likely have this one in the bag.

“What is your plan to fix it?” Berry asked, her eyes narrowed.

It is not the job of a presidential candidate to fix a local water system. But what does Booger do?

“This is a time in America where too many people are feeling left out, left behind, not included,” he said, promising “a massive infrastructure investment” targeting “forgotten” places.

He plays to her feelings.

As long as she "feels" better he can spend as much money as he wants.

We don't need another Obummer, who passed a bill with nearly a trillion dollars in it where he made a lot of bankers and fake solar business owners "feel" better.

Well, infanticide and elder euthanasia will reduce mouths to feed and medical spending. Those are key components, I’m sure.

Oh, Texas and California will both hold their primaries on Super Tuesday about a year from now.

Any nominee from either party will have to win at least one of them. Combined they are about 35% of all delegates in either party.

Little towns in SC or Iowa are now irrelevant.

Okay, answered my own questions. Deanna Miller Berry is a political activist who is running for Mayor of Denmark, SC.

Will the DemonRATs be out all over the fruited plains promoting their support for the “murder” of babies up to birth?

Perhaps the Marxist RATs think that will be their winning ticket for 2020 combined with their support for their four freshman Congress women who are voicing their anti-Israel hate speech and promoting their Green Commie Deal?

Sounds like a winning 2020 ticket for the RATs ya think?

The county has a 60% black population; that might have something to do with it. Identity politics.

Chuckle...

They should try sending AOC and Ilhan to small town rural America and let them run their mouths.

Let’s see how THAT works out for them.

The Democrats will arrive in Texas and say, ‘I'm here, I'm queer and I've come to take your guns and make you a Democrat’.
This whole program will be a massive failure.

Just remember, people in the heartland have been fed up to here with BOTH parties for along time. So running against Republicans isn’t likely to get you much.

However, neither will running AS a Republican.

Ask your local R Party people in rural areas how much money they raise locally. Many people are sick of both parties.
