~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Dugway Proving Ground, Utah
Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) is a U.S. Army facility established in 1942 to test biological and chemical weapons, located about 85 miles southwest of Salt Lake City, Utah and 13 miles south of the 2,624 sq mi Utah Test and Training Range forming the largest overland special use airspace in the United States.

Dugway's mission is to test United States and Allied biological and chemical weapon defense systems in a secure and isolated environment. DPG also serves as a facility for US Army Reserve and US National Guard maneuver training, and US Air Force flight testsmostly from nearby Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield. DPG is controlled by the United States Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC). The area has also been used by Army special forces for training in preparation for deployments to the War in Afghanistan.
Activities included aerial nerve agent testing. According to reports from New Scientist, Dugway was still producing quantities of anthrax spores as late as 2015, more than four decades after the United States renounced biological weapons, and shipping the material to military bases and military contractors around the globe.
The transcontinental Lincoln Highway passed through the present site of the Dugway Proving Ground, and is the only section of the old highway closed to the public. At least one old wooden bridge over a creek still stands. The name Dugway comes from a technique of digging a trench into a hillside to create a flat surface along which a wagon can travel.

Howdy, PRO!
Is the snow still melting or did it cool down enough to freeze it up again?
We’re still drowning down here but at least it’s warm.

Yo radu!
Slow melt here but it's suppose to warm-up into the 50's, (for the first time this year!), so the melt will go quicker. But it'll take until mid April for it all to melt.
Just a lazy day here, did nothing.
You go anywhere today?

March 12 Expect Delays
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9 Today's Scripture & Insight:
Are you kidding me? I was already late. But the road sign ahead instructed me to adjust my expectations: Expect Delays, it announced. Traffic was slowing down.
I had to laugh: I expect things to work on my ideal timeline; I dont expect road construction.
On a spiritual level, few of us plan for crises that slow us down or reroute our lives. Yet, if I think about it, I can recall many times when circumstances redirected mein big ways and small. Delays happen.
Solomon never saw a sign that said, Expect Delays. But in Proverbs 16, he does contrast our plans with Gods providential guidance. The Message paraphrases verse 1 as follows: Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. Solomon restates that idea in verse 9, where he adds that even though we plan [our] course . . . the Lord establishes [our] steps. In other words, we have ideas about whats supposed to happen, but sometimes God has another path for us.
How do I lose track of this spiritual truth? I make my plans, sometimes forgetting to ask Him what His plans are. I get frustrated when interruptions interfere.
But in place of that worrying, we could, as Solomon teaches, grow in simply trusting that God guides us, step-by-step, as we prayerfully seek Him, await His leading, andyesallow Him to continually redirect us.

Today's Reflection
How do you typically face unexpected delays and detours? When frustrations come, what will help you lean into God and trust Him more?

Hey, at least it’s melting and not being added to. A big step in the right direction! You must have a lot of snow if it’s going to take that long for all of it to melt.
We’re beginning to wonder if our ground will dry out in time for spring planting. It keeps raining and the water standing everywhere keeps expanding. It can’t soak in so it has to evaporate.
I went to a meeting late this afternoon and due to that, have just finished chowing down on supper. I’ll give it a few minutes to settle down then head over to do more trash-tossing at Clara’s. Still a looooooong way to go on that. *sigh*

Whew! You weren’t kidding with the Kleenex Alert. Good thing I keep a box on my desk. The Soaring Valor video still has my vision a little misty.
My dream is to get a chance to meet Gary Sinise and thank him for all he does for our veterans. This video is a great example of how much his efforts mean to them.
That WWII museum is NICE! One young man in the first video said what I’ve heard from young folks who visit the museum where I volunteer ..... they don’t learn about these things in school. They eat it up as they go through the museum, and the lucky ones are there when some veterans are there, too, and get to listen to them talk about their experiences.
