There was a time not long ago when the United States had not yet lost its collective mind and the will to survive. Here are immigrants at Ellis Island being screened for diseases. People with communicable diseases were sent packing back home. If the immigrant was too sick and too weak to manage to work, they were not allowed to enter to the US.

Let’s remember, too....that school children were ALL given physicals when they entered school.
