How is what they did any different than affirmative action, except it is the government forcing universities to admit students that could not get in based on their qualifications?

So far, I fail to understand why this is such a big deal. A bunch of rich parents bribed coaches and administrators at elite private universities to accept mediocre students as fake jocks in sports no one cares about. If the schools were state supported, I can see charges for bribing government officials, but private universities? Meh. If AOC can get two degrees from Boston University, I don't think a degree from an elite school is worth all that much anyway.

I did an FEC search on some of the perps.
Didn’t find a single Trump donor.
Did find some money going to Republicans: Romney and McCain.
