I have an AA degree and worked in television for 35 years. And my best bosses were always women.
Oh...and the Mrs and I are very happily and comfortably retired.
Unfortunately. Yes, WHO you know (or rather who knows you) is just as important as WHAT you know.
It is just an unfortunate fact of life.
You can dismiss it if you like, but you would be ignoring good old common sense.
