Re: “A ludicrous analogy. First, there’s a big difference between them voting for an AG which almost always gives deference to a presidents pick unless the guys an axe murderer.”

LOL...

2017 - Senator Jeff Sessions - 47 “NO” votes

2018 - Acting A.G. Matthew Whitaker - multiple lawsuits to remove him from office

2001 - Senator John Ashcroft - 42 “NO” votes

1981 - Edwin Meese - 13 months to get confirmed - 31 “NO” votes

1991 - William Barr - Voice vote - no recorded "NO" votes

My list is just from memory - there are definitely more.

I can’t wait for Monday morning to call Pat Toomey’s office and stick it to him. Find one of the Dirty Dozen and blast him with this video. Now we know how really bad some of these people are. They don’t give a rats ass about this country. They don’t even care about their own self respect. I wonder how much Toomey is own by the KOCH brothers?

A “voice vote” would not have any recorded “no votes” as a vote is not taken. It simply means that it wasn’t deemed close enough or at least in doubt enough to call for a formal vote so you have no idea how many “No’s” there were or were not.

Richard Thornburgh prior to Barr was confirmed unanimously and was NOT uncommon at the time. Maybe you had a problem with Reagan’s pick as well?

Edwin Meese (super hard ass) 69-31 seriously, you’re trying to make your point with that?
2018: Barr was reported to the Senate on a 12–10, party-line vote. Barr was confirmed as the next Attorney General by a 54–45 near party-line vote. An extremely close vote by historical standards.
